The start of the new La Liga season has seen Barcelona move quickly behind the scenes, registering Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford on the very day they faced Mallorca.
Preparations for the upcoming fixtures are in full swing, with Hansi Flick’s tactical sessions providing glimpses of the squad’s shape and potential line-ups.
The club has also been monitoring player fitness and injury recoveries carefully, ensuring that key stars like Jules Kounde are ready to face greater competition this season.
Meanwhile, La Liga is yet to validate the VIP seats operation, adding another administrative layer to Barcelona’s off-field focus.
Amidst this, Deco has remained heavily involved in sorting transfers and registrations to ensure the squad meets league requirements.
Attention now turns to the remaining four pending registrations: Roony Bardghji, Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, and Marc Bernal.
Progress on these fronts has been closely linked to outgoing moves, with Barcelona prioritising clarity on players departing before the new signings can be officially registered.
Hector Fort, Inaki Pena, and Oriol Romeu are central to this process.
As expected, Romeu will terminate his contract this week and depart as a free agent, freeing space in the squad and easing registration hurdles.
According to Anais Marti at La Vanguardia, both Hector Fort and Pena are set to join Como 1907 on loan.
Fort is lined up for a one-year spell, giving him vital first-team experience after limited game time last season under Flick, where Kounde maintained his hold on the right-back position.
The 19-year-old has already been left out of certain tactical sessions, reflecting his peripheral role in the manager’s immediate plans.
Inaki Pena, meanwhile, is to renew his contract for two more seasons before heading to Como on loan, giving Barcelona flexibility for the future.
With Marc-Andre ter Stegen sidelined medium-term and Szczesny approaching the latter stages of his career, Pena could be a long-term option alongside Joan Garcia in the coming years.
Fort and Pena’s loan deals are expected to be finalised next week, which will then allow Barcelona to complete the registrations of Bardghji, Szczesny, Martin, and Bernal.
These moves are seen as a positive step in balancing first-team readiness while maintaining strategic plans for youth development.
