Celta Vigo are set to make a bold move for a €4 million-rated Barcelona starlet in the January transfer window.

The Galician club, eager to bolster its squad for a challenging La Liga campaign, has set its sights on a versatile winger whose potential has already sparked interest across Spain.

With Barcelona’s reserve team facing the realities of Segunda Division football and a crowded first-team attack, the player’s future at the Catalan club remains uncertain, making him a prime target for Celta Vigo’s ambitious project under manager Claudio Giraldez.

This move could prove pivotal for both the player’s career and Celta’s aspirations to climb the league standings.

The player at the heart of this transfer interest is Dani Rodriguez, a 20-year-old winger who made his first-team debut for Barcelona this season, according to a report from Estadio Deportivo.

Despite the milestone, his campaign was marred by an injury sustained in that same match, sidelining him temporarily.

Rodriguez’s situation was further complicated by Barcelona’s summer signings of Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji, which intensified competition in the attacking unit.

Additionally, Barça Atletic’s relegation to the Segunda Division prompted speculation about his departure, though he ultimately stayed and recently received medical clearance to play for the reserves.

Celta Vigo, however, are undeterred and are now reigniting their interest, having previously targeted Rodriguez in the summer.

Giraldez, a known admirer of the young star, has reportedly made direct approaches to lure him to Balaídos, emphasizing Celta’s vision over rival interest from Mallorca, Athletic Club, and Valencia.

Barcelona has set an asking price of approximately €4 million for Rodriguez, a figure that reflects his potential despite limited first-team exposure.

Celta’s leadership is banking on their strong relationship with Barcelona and Rodriguez’s ability to adapt quickly to their system.

For Rodriguez, a move to Celta Vigo could offer regular playing time and a platform to showcase his talents in La Liga.

As January nears, all eyes will be on whether Celta can secure the €4 million deal and integrate the young winger into their squad for the second half of the season.
