Barcelona’s search for Robert Lewandowski’s long-term successor continues, with the club exploring a number of attacking profiles across Europe.
The Catalan giants have already strengthened their frontline this summer after completing deals for Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, but the club know planning for the future cannot stop there.
Lewandowski remains an important figure at Camp Nou, although Barcelona’s recruitment department are already identifying younger forwards capable of eventually taking over the role.
Several names have been discussed internally over recent months, with the club closely tracking emerging talent rather than limiting their search to established superstars.
One Premier League striker has now emerged as another player admired inside the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi is highly rated by Barcelona after being monitored throughout the 2025/26 season alongside several of Europe’s brightest young attackers.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign after arriving from Lorient, scoring 13 Premier League goals under Andoni Iraola and establishing himself as one of England’s most exciting young forwards.
Despite their admiration for the Frenchman, Barcelona have no intention of pursuing a move under Bournemouth’s current demands.
The Premier League side reportedly value Eli Junior Kroupi at around €100 million and see that figure as the starting point for any negotiations.
Barcelona believe that asking price simply does not represent value.
The report adds that the €100 million valuation is identical to the package Barcelona previously offered Atletico Madrid for Julian Alvarez, including bonuses.
Inside the club, however, there is a significant difference between the two situations.
Barcelona’s view is that if they are to invest around €100 million on a striker, it must be for a player already proven among the very best in world football.
As things stand, Kroupi remains a player the club admire rather than a realistic transfer target.
