Despite Robert Lewandowski reportedly hitting a milestone that will see him extend his contract at Barcelona, the club are still set to target strikers with the view of them becoming the Polish international’s long-term replacement.

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is said to be Deco’s favourite, however, the Magpies are reportedly asking for over £150million to let him leave, a figure that Barca will not get close to.

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz is also highly rated at the club, especially as the Colombian is able to play as a striker and on the wing.

Barcelona show interest in Darwin Nunez

However, Fichajes have claimed the Blaugrana are interested in Diaz’s forward partner, Darwin Nunez. So much so that he has now become a candidate to replace Lewandowski at the Nou Camp.

Hansi Flick reportedly ‘loves’ the Uruguayan and sees the need for a player with his speed and willingness to run, something that Lewa does not excel at.

After initially impressing at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds’ new coach Arne Slot has since dropped him to the bench and it is expected he will be sold next summer.

Liverpool reportedly rejected a bid worth over £70million in January from Saudi Arabian sides as they were unable to get their desired replacement in the winter market.

It is rumoured that Saudi clubs still want the 25-year-old so if Barcelona are in the race then they could be priced out, forcing them to go after other targets.
