Atletico Madrid and Barcelona were part of one of the best games of the season yesterday.

The Blaugrana managed to overcome a two-goal deficit in the second half, coming out as winners of the tie 4-2.

This result was huge as it meant that Hansi Flick’s side kept pace with Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga standings.

Ferran Torres was at the centre of things, coming off the bench to score twice.

Goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal also contributed to Barca’s historic win.

Unfortunately for the German coach, his team did not come out unscathed from their mammoth effort.

Last night, it was reported that Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado were both injured in the Atletico Madrid game.

The duo was expected to be withdrawn from the Spanish national team’s upcoming international break.

Now, AS’s Javi Miguel has confirmed that Martinez has been removed from the La Roja squad.

The 33-year-old defender has an issue with his meniscus in his right knee.

Martinez is now set to be out for at least two or three weeks, with his return potentially being the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg.

Barca and Atletico are drew the first leg 4-4 and the second leg is set to be another blockbuster affair.

The winner of the semi-final will face off against Real Madrid or Real Sociedad.

With regards to Marc Casado, there is currently no official confirmation if he has been withdrawn from the national team.

However, if he is then it is expected that Barcelona’s Gavi would be his replacement in Luis de la Fuente’s squad.
