Barcelona have been following Kean for a while, and the club sees him as the ideal player to use their limited transfer budget on to provide depth and competition in the attacking areas.

Kean has a release clause of €50 million, which may be beyond Barcelona’s financial constraints in terms of Financial Fair Play restrictions.
The Barcelona hierarchy, with perhaps some optimism, believes that Fiorentina may be amenable to negotiation, particularly if they have the cash available from player sales.
With Lewandowski lactating age and Ferran Torres having yet to make a great impact on the team, Kean would provide the recruitments that Barcelona need in attack and youthful exuberance.
