Barcelona has been focusing on bolstering their squad this season, adding quality options to their attacking lineup.

With Raphinha continuing to impress and Lamine Yamal emerging as a young star, the team is making significant strides in their offensive play.

Raphinha has become a key figure, contributing both goals and assists, while Yamal’s rise has brought new excitement to the squad.

Despite these attacking reinforcements, Barcelona remains intent on strengthening other areas of their team, particularly in midfield.

Barcelona has once again turned its attention to Sandro Tonali, the talented midfielder making waves in the Premier League with Newcastle United.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has been closely monitoring Tonali’s progress, with Andrea Mancini, the son of legendary Italian footballer Roberto Mancini, overseeing the technical aspects of this interest from the Camp Nou.

The midfielder’s performances in England, especially with Newcastle aiming for a European spot, have earned him high praise.

Reports suggest that the Catalan club has been tracking his development for several years, dating back to his time at Brescia, though they have yet to formalize any offer.

Sandro Tonali, who moved to Newcastle for a hefty £58 million, has faced challenges in adjusting to Premier League life, including a 10-month suspension due to a betting scandal.

However, Sandro Tonali has steadily established himself as a regular starter, becoming a key figure for Eddie Howe’s side.

There were rumours of a potential return to Serie A, particularly given his early struggles, but these have been quickly dismissed by his representatives.

Tonali’s contract with Newcastle runs until 2028, solidifying his future at the club for the foreseeable future.

Barcelona’s interest in the Italian midfielder dates back to 2020, when Massimo Cellino, president of Brescia, confirmed the club had made a serious offer for him.

The offer, reportedly €65 million plus two young players valued at €7.5 million each, was reportedly rejected, with Barcelona’s board receiving an unfavorable response.

The pandemic further delayed any potential deal, and Tonali’s career has since taken him to greater heights in England.

Known for his excellent ball distribution and defensive discipline, Tonali’s ability to dictate play from midfield, coupled with his vision and technical prowess, has made him an attractive target for top European clubs, including Barcelona.

However, whether he will make the move to Spain remains uncertain, especially with his growing influence in the Premier League.

Barcelona have also set their sights on Tonali teammates, Alexander Isak as their marquee addition for the summer transfer window, according to SPORT.

The Swedish forward has been in outstanding form this season, netting 23 goals and delivering five assists across 33 appearances under Eddie Howe.

His impressive performances have made him one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe.

However, Barcelona faces financial challenges that complicate their pursuit of the Premier League star.

Newcastle has no desire to part ways with Isak, but they are willing to consider offers that match their valuation.

The Magpies have reportedly placed a hefty £150 million price tag on the striker—an amount that would be difficult for Barcelona to meet.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also in the race, with both Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta keen on reinforcing their attacking options ahead of next season.

Another major hurdle for Barcelona is La Liga’s financial regulations, which could create complications in registering Isak.

The club has already encountered similar issues when attempting to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

Given his current form, Isak would be a perfect addition to Barcelona’s attack, potentially forming a dangerous frontline alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
