Barcelona’s summer transfer plans have already begun to take shape as Hansi Flick eyes reinforcements to push even further next season.

After wrapping up a sensational domestic treble in his first year at the helm, Flick is determined to go one step further in Europe next time around.

Their UEFA Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Inter Milan exposed a lack of depth, with three key starters missing in the second leg.

That shortfall proved costly and left a sense of what might have been had the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Alejandro Balde been available.

As a result, Deco and Flick are now working hand in hand to bring in the right players ahead of a defining 2025 campaign for the Catalan giants.

A new right-back is at the top of the club’s shopping list and the name at the centre of that discussion is AS Monaco’s Vanderson.

Sempre Barca reports that Deco has identified the 23-year-old Brazilian as a top priority and has already received Flick’s approval for the move.

Monaco have slapped a €35 million price tag on Vanderson, who is also being tracked by Tottenham and Manchester City.

However, Barcelona hold the advantage due to the player’s clear desire to join the Blaugrana and the fact that English clubs are not actively pursuing him.

Vanderson enjoyed an impressive season in Ligue 1, registering two goals and five assists across 40 appearances in all competitions.

He’s one of the top-performing full-backs in France statistically, ranking second for interceptions and long passes, and fourth for defensive duels won.

The defender’s contract with Monaco runs until June 2028, but sources say the French side are willing to sell if Barcelona can meet the asking price.

Flick sees Vanderson as an ideal fit for his tactical blueprint, with the Brazilian’s athleticism, versatility, and ball progression aligning perfectly with his system.

The club are now working to find a suitable financial structure for the deal, potentially involving performance-based add-ons or staggered payments.

Vanderson would likely rotate with Kounde initially but has the potential to make the position his own at Camp Nou.

This transfer could represent one of the smartest investments of the window—if Barcelona can get it over the line.
