Arsenal is gearing up to table a €40 million bid for a talented Barcelona star, aiming to secure his signature.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal are looking to strengthen their midfield with youthful talent, and this player from Barcelona caught their eye after an impressive season.

Barcelona’s financial situation makes it a nice setup for Arsenal, and despite the fact that the player has a long-term contract, they could be vulnerable to cashing in on their academy talent amidst these financial concerns.

The player in question is Marc Casado, a 21-year-old midfielder who got some chances under Hansi Flick last season, as reported by Fichajes.

His chances came about due to Club injuries and registration issues with other top Barcelona midfielders like Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Dani Olmo.

Casado was then able to step up and show off his technical ability with a very good work rate.

Arsenal are interested in Casado to meet the needs of their midfield, especially now with Partey leaving, which could leave gaping holes if they don’t replace them.

Arsenal likes Casado for his versatility, but also sees potential in Casado to become a midfield presence.

Barcelona, however, does sit between a rock and a hard place.

The €40 million could certainly alleviate their financial stresses, and especially after their winter window signings, such as Joan Garcia and Nico Williams, there is a suggestion from the agency that Casado would force a move away from Barcelona.

However, considering the potential Casado possesses, he develops to become a valuable asset.

The willingness of Flick to trust in youth during his managerial career suggests that he isn’t ready to let them go just yet; however, the club’s economic situation may force him to think again.

As the transfer window starts to loom closer, Arsenal’s bold offer could test Barcelona’s limits, while Casado’s future hangs in the balance.

The entire saga reinforces the ever-growing interest that the Premier League has in La Masia’s most talented graduates, as both clubs could be proven wrong over the course of the summer.
