Barcelona are focusing their attention on a shortlist of three top attackers as they prepare for potential moves in the market.
Despite maintaining remarkable momentum at the top of the table, Hansi Flick’s technical staff has recognized the need for experienced, cost-effective depth up front to manage fixture congestion across domestic and European competitions.
Inspired by their historic 2004 signing of Henrik Larsson, sporting director Deco is exploring seasoned profiles who can deliver immediate tactical output without straining the club’s strict salary structure.
Barcelona’s sporting management has shortlisted three experienced forwards: Vedat Muriqi, Ayoze Pérez, and Aleksandar Mitrović, as reported by Fichajes.
Each player brings distinct tactical qualities to the table. Muriqi, currently at Fenerbahçe following a prolific spell at Mallorca, offers proven La Liga goals and physical dominance valued at around €7 million.
Ayoze Pérez, available from Villarreal for approximately €5 million, provides versatile cover across the wings and central channels.
Meanwhile, Al-Rayyan striker Mitrović represents an elite focal point with immense international experience, valued near €10 million.
From Barcelona’s perspective, securing an experienced auxiliary forward mirrors a proven blueprint that has brought success in previous campaigns.
With starter rotation paramount under Flick’s demanding physical pressing system, adding a proven finisher allows primary stars to stay fresh for high-stakes matches.
While negotiation complexities vary across all three candidates—particularly regarding wage adjustments for players arriving from lucrative overseas deals—the Catalan hierarchy views low-risk options as vital insurance for the second half of the season.
For the players involved, joining a project of Barcelona’s magnitude presents a compelling career milestone.
While formal bids have yet to be tabled, internal evaluations are accelerating at the Ciutat Esportiva.
As the winter window draws near, Barcelona fans will be watching closely to see which low-cost target is chosen to reinforce the frontline.
