The trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar is widely considered to be the best forward line the world has ever seen.
All three players were goalscoring machines, as well as technically brilliant, making them almost unstoppable for any team that came up against them.
However, in 2017 Neymar relayed to Barcelona that he wanted to leave the club and eventually PSG signed the Brazilian for a monumental fee of €222million.
Sadly for Neymar, his career was never the same after leaving Barça and he has spoken about how Messi tried to get him to continue at the club.
“I didn’t leave Barça to be the best in the world at PSG,” Neymar revealed in a recent interview, via Managing Barca.
“Messi told me: why are you leaving? Do you want to be the best player in the world? I can make you the best player in the world.
“I told him no. It’s not that. It’s something personal. Obviously financially, it was better than what I had at Barcelona… and there were Brazilians there too.
“I wanted to play with the Brazilians. There was Thiago Silva, Dani Alves just signed, Marquinhos, Lucas Moura. They were all my friends.”
Who knows what might of happened if Neymar had stayed at Barcelona, in the end, it did not really work out for either party as the Blaugrana spent most of the money on Philippe Coutinho who did not live up to expectations.
