Marcus Rashford is still Barcelona’s number one target for this winter transfer window as Hansi Flick looks to improve his squad depth on the left-hand side.

The English forward has reportedly given the Blaugrana his priority and is even willing to take a wage cut to join the Spanish side.

Unfortunately, Barca need to make some room in the wage budget to register the 27-year-old winger, something that is proving difficult.

Ansu Fati, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia have all been linked with moves away from the club, however, the trio seem closer to staying than departing.

On the Rashford front in England, Amorim has made his mind up, completely icing him from the Manchester United squad.

In his post-match press conference after beating Fulham 1-0, cited by Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese coach slammed the Manchester native, claiming he would start his goalkeeping coach over the English international.

“If things do not change, I will not change. I will put the goalkeeping coach before a player who does not give his best every day… in training, in life, in every detail.

“I am not going to change in this matter.

Nobody will truly know what is going on behind the scenes but on the face of it, it is not a good look for either Amorim or Rashford.

It is clear that both parties want a transfer to happen this month and with Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and Besiktas apparently waiting in the wings, Barca might need to move sooner rather than later if they want to secure his signature.
