If Barcelona do sign someone this January transfer window, it looks like it will be a forward player to reinforce the left-wing position.
The main player who has been linked is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who reportedly wants to join the Blaugrana and has given them priority.
However, recent reports have claimed that if Barça want to sign him then they need someone to depart the club this month.
That player looks set to be Ansu Fati, who has not impressed Hansi Flick since he took over the reins at the Catalonian side.
Real Betis have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but the La Masia graduate seemingly wants to try and prove himself.
In his press conference ahead of the league clash against Getafe, the German coach was asked about the potential of signing Rashford this summer.
“Rashford? I always say I am happy with the group, we only have 3 injured now, I have to say that we are working independently of the medical staff… It depends on Deco but I’m happy with the team.”
Flick has maintained the entire transfer window that he is happy with the group of players he has at his disposal but if he can secure the English forward on a six-month loan it will be a massive boost.
So far this season, Raphinha and Ferran Torres have been playing on the left flank but it is accepted that they are much better on the right, their natural position.
If Rashford does join it will be a natural left sided player to play that position and he can also fill in as a striker if needed.
Time will tell if the Blaugrana can get this deal over the line but if they cannot then it seems like Flick will not be too bothered.
