FC Barcelona regulatory is transitioning to its new 2025-26 season fast approaching, and one big decision remains on one of its forwards.
The Catalan club will return to work this Sunday to begin its training sessions, but the sporting department is making the final assessments ahead of their decisions for a few members of the squad, primarily players who have struggled to find a consistent place on the pitch.
At the moment, the club is trading up for a loan exit for a 23-year-old attacker who has been outside the first team in recent months, indicating they made a sound decision on finally transferring him for his continued growth within a competitive group, as reported by Diario Sport.
The player in question is Pau Victor, who came to Barcelona on a permanent deal last summer after first impressing the team’s technical staff during his initial loan with Barça Atlètic last season (2023-24).
He did well with the group regarding his pre-season with Flick, but once the official matches began, he found fewer and fewer minutes to play among a lot of other talented players, and he only appeared in 29 matches where he found the net twice and assisted once.
To that end, the club has discussed a loaned move, meant to allow Victor to find a place to play La Liga, contribute experience, and return a stronger player, which is right for the club and is what Victor will need to continue to grow as a player.
This decision is indicative of Barcelona’s overall approach to meeting their squad needs while maintaining a healthy youth pipeline, in particular, integrating new hires such as Lovro Chelfi into the U21 pathway.
Pau Victor is already attracting offers, with clubs working quickly to try and sign him.
Optimism remains for Isak’s future, with fans hoping the loan experience will yield similar results to past La Masia graduates.
As pre-season approaches, all eyes will be on whether this loan spell will initiate the start of the next chapter of his Blaugrana story and further cement Barcelona’s attacking depth for several years to come.
