FC Barcelona are set to secure the future of a promising young midfielder, with negotiations nearing completion.
FC Barcelona’s determined effort to sign their key players is continuing, with the La Liga champions now preparing to ratify a new contract for one of their best midfielders.
After recently renewing star players Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, Iñigo Martínez, Raphinha, and manager Hansi Flick, the club is moving rapidly to secure the future of another key player.
This new contract extension emphasizes Barcelona’s desire to continue developing their young players into a squad, while also maintaining consistency within the squad.
The player in question is Marc Casadó, the 23-year-old midfielder who had a breakthrough season under Hansi Flick.
According to Diario Sport, Casadó will renew his contract until June 30, 2030, extending the current contract he has, which expires in 2028.
Casadó was less prolific in the second half of the season after suffering a partial ligament tear injury and due to increased competition.
Nonetheless, Casadó is still a key figure in Flick’s plans.
Barcelona will profit from him not playing their last four La Liga matches of the season, even after all but securing the title against RCD Espanyol, to ensure he is fully fit prior to pre-season.
Negotiations on an extension for Casadó are going well. Sporting director Deco and the management of the club both see Casadó as a core part of the future.
The extension is expected to be signed before pre-season starts on July 13 and will bring Casadó’s status to a level on par with other key personnel in the squad.
Cancelling out any injuries, Flick has complete faith in Casadó because of his versatility, work rate, and composure.
Everybody is keen to reach a deal, and the renewal announcement could come in the next few days.
Casadó will now be seen as an integral component of Barcelona’s midfield for the next five years, and the club has reinforced their reliance on their own products.
