Barcelona’s coaching carousel continues to attract attention even in the absence of immediate changes.

With Hansi Flick now tasked with leading the Catalan giants into a new era, many fans are still reflecting on the legacy left behind by previous figures, especially those with deep ties to the club.

The managerial market in Spain remains unpredictable, with several clubs in La Liga still considering coaching changes ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, some former managers remain out of work, despite being actively courted by rival sides within the league.

That brings us to a familiar figure whose recent decision has drawn praise from many within Barcelona’s fanbase.

Xavi Hernandez, the iconic midfielder-turned-manager, has turned down several opportunities to return to the dugout in La Liga.

According to a fresh report from Marca, the 45-year-old has been approached by multiple top-flight Spanish clubs over the past year.

Each of those approaches was swiftly declined by Xavi’s camp, and the reason is one that will likely endear him even more to the Blaugrana faithful.

The former Barcelona boss reportedly refuses to manage another club in Spain out of respect for the Camp Nou institution.

Despite being dismissed by the Catalan club over a year ago, Xavi has made it clear that his allegiance remains firmly with Barcelona.

No official names of interested clubs were mentioned in the report, but it’s understood that the offers were substantial and involved attractive projects.

However, Xavi is said to believe that managing another La Liga club would go against everything he stands for, considering his lifelong association with Barca.

It was reported that Tottenham Hotspur were considering Xavi as a target after Ange Postecoglou left but that did not come to fruition.

It’s a rare show of loyalty in modern football, especially given the volatility of managerial careers and the pressure to stay relevant in the job market.

For now, Xavi remains without a club, but he’s made it known that he’s open to coaching abroad should the right opportunity arise.

Barcelona, for their part, continue to move forward under Flick’s leadership, but knowing Xavi is still waiting in the wings — albeit quietly — adds an extra layer of drama to future managerial decisions at the club.
