Barcelona’s Sporting Director, Deco, concluded the summer transfer window approximately one month ago; however, he still has important responsibilities to address before turning his attention to the upcoming winter transfer market.
At present, the club has 15 players whose contracts are set to expire within the next two years.
One notable point from Diario Sport is that there are no ongoing talks with Frenkie de Jong or Ronald Araujo, both of whom have been subjects of frequent transfer speculation.
Barcelona intends to prolong their agreements beyond the year 2026, subject to favorable terms. The status of Andreas Christensen‘s future remains uncertain.
The club is content with his performance and is willing to prolong his contract; however, they are also prepared to entertain a compelling offer for him.
His current contract will expire when he reaches 30 years old. In 2026, other players who are also set to be out of contract include Inaki Pena, Robert Lewandowski, Eric Garcia, Ander Astralaga, Pablo Torre, and Hector Fort.
It is expected that Barcelona could potentially release Lewandowski at that point in time, if not earlier. This year will be pivotal for Garcia and Torre as they aim to demonstrate their worth to the team.
