As reported during the week, the ideal coach for those in charge of Barcelona would be Jurgen Klopp, well appreciated and admired by those within the club for his works at Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is seen as a figure who could take the club to the next level. His incredible passion, energy accompanied with his vast understanding of the game and good Man management which has led the Former Borussia Dortmund coach to success are things the club would like it’s new manager to possess.
However Jurgen Klopp just as Xavi as announced his decision to leave the managerial role at Liverpool after almost 9 years with the club and he is expected to take a 1 year break from football, which makes his arrival complicated.
Within the German school of coaches remains Thomas Tuchel and Hansi flick. With the Bayern manager on a visit to a supporters club reported to have welcomed a move to the Spanish league. Thomas Tuchel arrival however depends on his continuity at Bayern Munich, sitting in second only behind Xavi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, failure to deliver could bring about the sack for the former Chelsea Head coach, which could then open up a path to the managerial role at Barcelona .
Hansi Flick on the other hand is considered the most feasible deal. Currently unemployed as he was sacked by the German Football Association after 2 years with the men’s National team. Laporta remains a great admirer of Hansi Flick, the Barcelona president has been rumored to have been in contact with the former Bayern Munich manager after he was elected as president back in 2021. Unable to convince the German to leave a successful project at Bayern at the time, a possible deal come the summer for an unemployed Hansi Flick appears tp interest those at Barcelona. While Laporta remains a huge fan of the German school of coaches, the men from Germany are expected to be among the leading candidates for the role at Barcelona.
From a set of German coaches to a former Barcelona player in Mikel Arteta. Some within the ranks of Barcelona would like Mikel Arteta to take up the managerial role. A former La Masia product who is believed to have the Barcelona identity having gone through the youth set up as a player and has served as an assistant coach to the Pep Guardiola.
However in his most recent press conference Mikel Arteta has discarded all rumors linking him to the managerial role at Barcelona as he claim he is happy and looking forward to the continuity of his project at Arsenal.
Among those with a less exciting CV are Roberto De Zerbi and Imanol Alguacil. Both managers liked for their style of play and ability to cope with a smaller budget, which in turn fits the financial situation at Barcelona. Whilst contact with Roberto De Zerbi is yet to be held, Deco the sporting Director at Barcelona has enquired about the availability of Imanol Alguacil come the summer.
More names are expected to be brought to the limelight in the coming months, however, Hansi Flick and Imanol Alguacil remains the only two candidates in which the club is rumored to have been in contact with, which makes them favourite for the managerial role at FC Barcelona.
