Despite being out of football action since last year after a scary injury that has kept Germany and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Ter Stegen from participating in games, the goalie has been in the news for the past few weeks.
Barcelona’s goalkeeper took to social media to announce the separation of him and his wife Jehle last week, after nearly eight years of marriage. The pair, who started dating in 2012 and married in 2017, issued a joint statement declaring their separation. They have two children.
Since the news from the pair, numerous news outlets have updated on the issue, to which the player has slammed as false.
Ter Stegen Debunks False News on Ex-Wife
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen has defended his former wife, Daniela Jehle, after Spanish media sources claimed their split was due to her adultery. The German footballer responded on social media to criticize the allegations, calling them “false news” and accusing Catalunya Radio of disseminating misinformation.
Marc ter Stegen’s confession came after journalist Juliana Canet stated on Catalunya Radio that he had been residing at Barcelona’s five-star Grand Hyatt Hotel for two months after allegedly having an affair with Daniela. According to Canet, Ter Stegen utilized home renovations to justify his leaving.
The goalkeeper said via his official X account: “I am shocked and disappointed in the poor management and lack of Leadership and Control at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group – distributing false news and violating personal rights. Journalists Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell, and Marta Montaner are liars who have distributed false news, offending my wife, Daniela, and her reputation publicly in a naughty manner. There has not been any infidelity in Daniela. No third person was involved. Fact.”
However, the Barcelona star has strongly refuted the allegations, claiming their split was mutual and had nothing to do with anyone else.
