According to a report from HITC, Tottenham Hotspur is interested in RB Salzburg’s emerging talent, Samson Baidoo, and has deployed scouts to Austria to monitor his performances.
Spurs will encounter tough competition from other Premier League clubs such as Manchester City and Newcastle United, as well as interest from FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Borussia Dortmund. Manchester City has reportedly been observing Baidoo for the past 18 months.
Baidoo, a 20-year-old center-back, has shown significant development at RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga. He is a Austria U21 international and he made his senior debut in October of last year.
Earlier this month, he competed against Archie Gray during his team’s match against England’s U21s at Kenilworth Road.
Salzburg is renowned for nurturing talent, producing notable players such as Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Dayot Upamecano. Baidoo’s ex-defensive partner, Stranhinja Pavlovic, has been acquired by AC Milan, showcasing the potential of Austrian Bundesliga players to succeed in top European leagues.
