Earlier in the transfer window, Barcelona were surprisingly linked with Aston Villa’s Colombian forward Jhon Duran.
The 21-year-old’s entourage reportedly met with Barca’s Sporting Director, Deco, at the end of 2024, where the Catalonian side informed them they were monitoring his progress.
It was also reported that the Villa striker would ‘love to be a Barcelona player one day’, adding more fuel to the fire.
Despite interest, it was widely accepted that the Blaugrana were not going to be able to sign the Colombian this January transfer window.
More recently, PSG have shown interest in Duran and Premier League side West Ham also reportedly bid £57million for his signature.
In a recent report from Santi Aouna, the journalist has claimed that Barcelona’s main rivals, Real Madrid, have also joined the race for the 21-year-old striker.
It is claimed that Los Blancos are considering making a move for the Duran. However, the report also states that he could move to Saudi Pro side Al-Nassr.
The rumours have been that Aston Villa would consider selling the Colombian, but they would demand around €85million, a fee that would be a massive risk for a lot of clubs.
If the forward does decide to move this month, then it is almost a certainty that it will not be to Barcelona, regardless of how highly rated he is at the club.
