Natalia Rodrigues, Raphinha’s wife, has sent an emotional message following the Brazilian star’s two goals in Barcelona’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Benfica.
The forward was late to catch up with the squad before the game and it has now been revealed by the player’s wife that he was in hospital this morning with his family.
Natalia wrote on Instagram: “I’m so proud of you, my love. You’ve been at the hospital with our child since early morning, yet you still managed to do your job brilliantly once again. You’re an amazing father and a true professional! We love you.”
Raphinha was undaunted by the early start. If it hadn’t been for Frenkie de Jong, who scored twice and possibly had a hat-trick, putting on another outstanding performance.
Raphinha is also the leading striker in the Champions League this season, scoring 11 goals in ten games for Hansi Flick’s team.
