In typical January fashion, Barcelona have been linked with numerous players and with Robert Lewandowski’s long-term future in doubt, strikers have been one of the main talking points.
Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak are just a couple that have been linked with a move to the Camp Nou recently.
However, earlier this week, SPORT surprisingly linked Hansi Flick’s side to Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán, who is having a breakout season in the Premier League.
The report stated that Deco had met with the Colombian’s representatives to make them aware they are monitoring the 21-year-old striker.
It was also claimed that Durán would ‘love to play for Barça’ one day.
Despite this article, reports from France and South America have now linked the Villa forward with a move to PSG this January.
RMC Sport claim that Paris Saint-Germain have registered their interest in the 21-year-old and that he is already highly rated by the management of the French side.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has also confirmed Luis Enrique’s interest in Durán, even going as far as to claim that both clubs are now in direct contact about a potential deal.
Villa reportedly want €85million for the 21-year-old but PSG are considering all options, including offering players for the Medellin native.
Due to the current financial situation at Barcelona, it seems unlikely that they will act if Durán does leave for that price, however, if the Blaugrana sees him as the ideal fit to replace Lewandowski long-term then they might be able to generate funds through sales this month.
