Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is keen to test Barcelona’s will with a €100 million offer for their coveted midfielder.

Despite Joan Laporta’s position that the teenager is not for sale, PSG continues to pursue him.

According to El Nacional, the player is said to be Pablo Gavi.

However, Joan Laporta made one thing crystal clear to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and other European clubs who have been on Gavi’s tail: the young midfielder won’t be sold, even for €100 million.

Luis Enrique’s PSG have been very eager to sign 19-year-old Spanish midfielder Gavi.

Enrique, who brought Gavi to the international scene with the Spanish national team, has him as his first choice, too.

But Barcelona president Laporta has unequivocally made it clear that Barcelona will not negotiate at any cost.

Laporta is reported to have told PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi that they can only sign him based on paying his €1 billion release fee, which cannot be paid and is reported to test whether the club has him untouchable.

Gavi, after coming back from his long layoff, has played just 27 games this season.

Barcelona, with his limited playing time, is treating him like a figure of the future as is Hansi Flick too.

Barcelona feels he will be in his best game again and will be the center of their midfield for the next two or three years.

With PSG’s management still in Laporta’s hands, PSG and other competitors will be forced to seek alternatives elsewhere.

Gavi’s fate, at least thus far, is secure in Camp Nou.
