Premier League clubs wanted Barcelona star

Tottenham and Manchester United wanted to sign Barcelona star in the summer transfer market, per reports in England.

Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez.

At 21 years old, Lopez is considered a standout young talent in La Liga and has garnered significant praise at Barcelona.

He played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph this summer and made a significant contribution to their Olympic journey.

Reports in England suggest that Manchester United had their eye on Lopez. However, despite interest from both Premier League clubs, no move materialized.

Lopez is not eager to leave his childhood club just yet. Barcelona considers him a key component of their future strategies and is reluctant to release him.

It is yet unclear whether Tottenham will revisit their interest in Lopez after the season concludes.

He may prove to be a valuable addition as a skillful midfielder to fill the gaps left by the departures of Giovani Lo Celso, Oliver Skipp, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
