Per Mundo Deportivo, FC Porto reportedly made a bid for Barcelona’s Eric Garcia in an effort to acquire him during the transfer window.
Girona expressed interest in re-signing him following his impressive performances last season. Porto has shown interest in a loan with an option to buy or a permanent transfer for the 23-year-old defender.
Various circumstances hindered his exit from Barcelona, such as Andreas Christensen’s injury, leading the club to enlist Dani Olmo.
This season, Hansi Flick has deployed Garcia as a pivot, stepping in for Marc Bernal or Marc Casado in the latter stages of games.
The Spanish player has successfully adjusted to this position, demonstrating proficiency in executing Cruyff turns. The absence of Marc Bernal for the entire season means that Marc Casado and Eric Garcia must now step up to fulfill the pivotal role preferred by Flick.
Though Garcia might not possess the agility typically required for his position, there is no doubt about his exceptional footballing intelligence.
