Pedri is not only making history in the field but also outside the field. In a recent tweet by Barcelona, Pedri is the new ambassador for Fundcio Barca Genuine.
Fundcio Barca Genuine “FCB Genuine” or the “Barca Genuine” program is an initiative by FC Barcelona (Fútbol Club Barcelona) Foundation.
The program focuses on inclusive football for people with cerebral palsy (intellectual disabilities) to create a team of players with cognitive disabilities to participate professionally in football.
On the field, Pedri, having a stellar season, has looked to overcome his injury hurdles over the past seasons, which has seen him play 35 games in all competitions and score 4 goals with 6 assists this season.
Barcelona initiative and Pedri’s appointment as the new ambassador for FCB Genuine is a testament to the motto of the Spanish Giant that it is more than a club: “Més que un club.”
