Fresh from their La Liga triumph, Barcelona sporting area has a major summer ahead of them, with being forced to make important decisions regarding contract renewals, transfer targets, as well as departures.

Sporting director Deco is preparing for a potentially busy period, as he has a large responsibility in trimming down the squad.

There will be several players leaving, including one major signing, and there are also young players who will likely face loans or permanent exits if they don’t gain more playing time.

With the club trying to balance sporting ambitions with financial realities, only two players seem to be untouchable on the current roster, and their futures are intertwined with Barcelona.

The two untouchables? Pedri and Lamine Yamal, according to Diario Sport.

Two Spanish internationals among the best in the world, they’re also part of Hansi Flick’s vision for the national team, non-transferable in terms of interest.

Barcelona has tied down Pedri with a new contract and finalized a long-term contract with Yamal, to be announced when he turns 18 in July.

Their importance throughout the season, their status as Ballon d’Or contenders define them as the constants for many more seasons to come.

At the same time, some squad members remain uncertain.

Players like Ronald Araujo and Fermin Lopez are not under any constraints unless significant interest leads to a discussion, and market viability could also impact their futures.

Expect a contract renewal for Frenkie de Jong soon; however, if not concluded before the end of May, the conversations will begin to take shape again.

As Barcelona manages this tightrope, the focus on Pedri and Yamal shows a clear endgame: build a future around their best players and remould the squad as needed.

The next months will shape the path for Barcelona, but with Deco as their new lead, they will ensure this continued La Liga presence is maintained.
