FC Barcelona is set to kick off its La Liga title defense with an away clash against RCD Mallorca at Son Moix this evening.

Manager Hansi Flick has finalized the squad for the trip to Palma, blending seasoned players with emerging talents to tackle the season opener.

The team’s preparations have been meticulous, with the squad list reflecting strategic choices amid registration challenges and injury concerns.

This match marks the beginning of Barcelona’s campaign to retain their domestic crown, and the selected players are poised to deliver a strong performance.

The squad features new signing Joan Garcia, who is expected to make his official debut after his La Liga registration was confirmed this morning, as per the official FC Barcelona X page.

Marcus Rashford also joins the traveling party, with his registration finalized, adding firepower to the attacking unit.

However, the squad is without Wojciech Szczesny and Gerard Martin, both unregistered, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen is sidelined due to injury.

In their absence, Inaki Pena and Diego Kochen step up as backup goalkeepers.

Teenage prodigy Jofre Torrents earns a call-up to provide cover at left-back for Alejandro Balde, showcasing Flick’s trust in the club’s youth pipeline.

Injuries have further shaped the squad, with Robert Lewandowski ruled out due to a lingering thigh muscle issue and Marc Bernal omitted as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury.

To bolster midfield and attack, Flick has included teenage sensations Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Toni Fernandez, and Guille Fernandez, highlighting Barcelona’s commitment to nurturing their La Masia talents.

Notably, new signing Roony Bardghji and youngster Hector Fort, who has been linked with a potential exit, did not make the squad.

This carefully curated squad reflects Flick’s blend of experience and youth as Barcelona aims to start its La Liga journey on a high note against a resilient Mallorca side.
