. In the illustrious history of Barcelona, only one English international has ever played for Barcelona, Gary Lineker.
Scotsman Steve Archibald and Welshman Mark Hughes also played for the Blaugrana but in terms of memorable players from the British Isles, there are not many to choose from.
However, Barça could be about to accept another Englishman to their ranks in the form of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old is currently an outcast in Ruben Amorin’s Manchester United team and is courting interest from many clubs in Europe, including Barcelona.
Now, Toni Juanmarti has reiterated that Rashford ‘only’ wants to join the Spanish side during this January transfer window.
He is also reporting that the other clubs that have been linked with him, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Monaco, to name a few, are not making much progress.
However, Juanmarti claims that Hansi Flick’s side would need to have a player exit the club this month, something which is not easy.
The main candidate to leave this transfer window seems to be Ansu Fati, who has recently been linked with Tottenham and West Ham United.
Flick is clearly not a fan of the La Masia graduate and if the club can convince Fati team to leave them it seems like a certainty that Rashford would arrive to see out the remainder of the season.
