As of now, it seems like there is only one player who is close to joining Barcelona this January transfer window and that is Man United’s Marcus Rashford.
The English forward has reportedly made it clear he wants to join the Blaugrana on a six-month loan and is willing to wait as long as it takes.
Unfortunately, reports in Spain have doubled down on the fact that if Barca want to complete the signing then they need to sell someone.
Eric Garcia has decided to stay at the club this month despite interest from Girona and Ansu Fati has been adamant he will not leave on loan, even though Hansi Flick is not relying on him.
Due to this, it has cast doubt over Rashford joining the Spanish side as they need to free up wage space to register him.
Thankfully, Mundo Deportivo have reported that the Man United forward has relayed to Deco that he wants to wear a Barca shirt this season and is willing to take a pay cut to join.
Even with Rashford forgoing some of his salary, Barcelona would still require the English side to pay some of his wages, especially if no one departs from Flick’s side this month.
Rashford is not short of suitors either, as Besiktas, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham are all still in the race to sign him in January.
It is a massive positive that the 27-year-old is willing to wait for Barca, however, the Blaugrana can not expect him to wait until the last day of the transfer window, otherwise, he is at risk of not playing any football for the remainder of the season.
