According to TEAMtalk, Manchester City has reportedly targeted Barcelona’s Raphinha as a possible signing. However, they are anticipated to encounter competition for securing his signature.
The 27-year-old player from Brazil, who was lauded as “exceptional” by writer Ben Mattinson, has been a member of Barcelona since July 2022 after moving from Leeds United.
Raphinha has played a key role at the Catalan club since his arrival and continues to do so under the guidance of Hansi Flick this season. His reliable displays have caught the eye of City, sparking speculation that he may become a target should Xabi Alonso succeed Pep Guardiola as City’s next manager.
City’s admiration for Raphinha dates back to the summer of 2023, when they were exploring options to replace Riyad Mahrez. While he continues to be monitored by the Premier League champions, he is not currently a primary focus for them.
Barcelona, though Raphinha is a key player for the team, are reportedly willing to consider selling him as part of their efforts to enhance their financial position.
Saudi club Al-Nassr, who had previously attempted to sign Raphinha in 2023, are closely monitoring the winger and are now seen as the leading contenders for his acquisition.
