Raphinha was transferred by Leeds United to Barcelona for a reputed £55 million in the summer of 2022, and the Brazilian is now looking more probable than ever to win the Champions League and possibly the Ballon d’Or.
Raphinha earned a dream move to Barcelona, which no fan would envy. The fee was reported to be £55 million from the Catalan giants to Leeds in 2022, with only a minor fraction of that being add-ons, with other publications reporting varying figures on how much Leeds may receive as bonuses.
Leeds United Reserves £10 million for Raphinha Deal
Previous claims in October 2024 suggested that Barcelona owed Leeds a considerable fee, but this is not the case, with the La Liga side more likely to have borrowed money to pay the Whites on time, leaving them in debt to their respective creditors.
Barcelona have struggled to sign high-profile players due to La Liga’s strict spending limits and the club’s failure to comply with FFP completely.
According to Marca, Leeds had roughly £10 million in add-ons ready for them if the winger won the Champions League while playing for Barcelona.
Other sources indicate Leeds could only receive up to £5 million in performance-related add-ons, such as the Champions League clause.
However, there is no evidence that Leeds put a condition in Raphinha’s contract that would trigger further compensation if he was named the world’s finest player during his time at Camp Nou.
