La Liga has officially appealed Spain’s Sports Council (CSD) decision to allow Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to remain on FC Barcelona’s list of registered players.

The league appealed the ruling, as well as filed a request for precautionary orders asking the players to be provisionally barred from being able to play until the legal process is complete.

The move is a question of whether or not the two players will be allowed to play for Barcelona in the future.

According to Mundo Deportivo reports, La Liga had not requested an immediate decision but a normal precautionary measure, i.e., the proceedings will continue with normal legal procedures.

The judge will initiate the investigation of the case soon, after which the State Attorney’s Office will have 10 working days to present its arguments.

Due to the Easter Week holidays and the non-working nature of weekends, however, the answer deadline has been shifted to April 23.

It will only be after this that the judge makes the final ruling—either grant La Liga’s appeal (excluding Olmo and Pau Víctor) or reject it (allowing them to play).

This delay will favor Barcelona, as the longer it lasts, the greater the chances that the two players will have to make it through the season without any interruptions.

For the time being, the uncertainty remains, and the club will be hoping for a judgment that will enable them to keep their team intact.

The next significant date to watch out for is April 23, when the judge is to have all the documents in order and issue a final judgment.
