A key Barcelona defender has returned to group training, offering hope for a strengthened backline as the team navigates a challenging season.

The team has navigated a challenging period, but a recent development at the training ground offers a glimmer of hope for the Blaugrana as they aim to solidify their backline for upcoming fixtures.

The injury, located in a delicate area due to his history of muscular issues, prompted a cautious approach from the medical staff.

Alejandro Balde, the dynamic left-back, has rejoined group training, marking a significant step in his recovery from a femoral biceps injury sustained on September 3.

According to Diario Sport, Alejandro Balde trained normally with his teammates, signaling progress, though he remains unavailable for the upcoming clash against Real Oviedo and is highly unlikely to feature against Real Sociedad.

With a recovery timeline of three to four weeks, his return is tentatively targeted for October 1, when Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The loss of Inigo Martinez to Saudi Arabia at the end of the summer transfer window caught Flick by surprise, thinning the defensive ranks.

Balde’s injury shortly after, combined with a recent knee knock to young defender Pau Cubarsi during a match against Newcastle, further strained the squad.

Cubarsi, however, has also resumed full training and is expected to be available for the Oviedo trip, providing a boost after missing the recent 3-0 win over Getafe.

Balde’s return to training is a promising sign, but Barcelona’s staff are prioritizing his long-term fitness over a rushed comeback.

As the team prepares for a demanding schedule, including crucial Champions League matches, the gradual reintegration of key defenders like Alejandro Balde and Pau Cubarsi will be vital.
