Barcelona is set for a possible financial windfall as one of their former attackers is considering leaving his current club this summer.

The La Liga side had been hoping to generate some passive income from sell-on clauses for their former players, after not seeing any significant financial returns on this policy.

Now, there might be a potential transfer as Jutglà is looking likely to leave Club Brugge, and if confirmation of a sale arises, then a possible cash injection in time for the club to manage its ongoing financial situation is fundamental.

The player in question is Ferran Jutglà, who left Barcelona after the 21/22 season when he completed a move to Club Brugge in July 2022.

At the age of 26, Jutglà has apparent intentions of leaving the Belgian side, with a move to return to Spain being high on the agenda.

According to Mundo Deportivo, one of the clubs looking to purchase him is Girona, and with only one more year left on his contract expiring in 2026, Club Brugge may have to move rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.

It was also reported that Barcelona included a 10% sell-on clause on Jutglà’s transfer.

Jutglà’s recent performance in the Belgian Pro League, where he scored 10 goals and compiled three assists in 36 appearances, as well as contributing 0.9 key passes per match and seven big chances, has kept him very much in the sights of clubs in La Liga.

Furthermore, he wants a new challenge at a point in his career (ideally this summer) when he is entering his prime.

For Barcelona, the fee that Jutgla is realistically likely to generate is positive financial news and all the more welcome as they will seek to balance the books.
