Barcelona is gearing up for a busy week, as the club aims to trim the squad and reduce expenses by parting ways with several players.
According to Relevo, there were considerations about Robert Lewandowski leaving Barcelona while Xavi Hernandez was in charge.
This development didn’t come as a surprise, given the friction between Lewandowski and Xavi in the previous season.
The striker allegedly had significant issues with Xavi’s lackadaisical and chaotic training methods.
Lewandowski, being one of the top earners at the club, was a prime candidate for departure to ease the team’s financial burden this summer.
However, plans for his exit were put on hold following the appointment of Hansi Flick, who was not keen on letting go of the striker.
