FC Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, has made a strategic move during the international break, releasing four promising youngsters from first-team training to join Barça Atletic for their upcoming match.

This decision reflects Flick’s commitment to balancing the development of the club’s brightest talents with their need for competitive game time.

The quartet, who have been training with the senior squad since pre-season, will now shift focus to the reserve team’s first official game of the season against Porreres in Segunda RFEF this Sunday, as reported by Diario Sport.

The players in question—Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Jofre Torrents, Toni Fernandez, and Guille Fernandez—have been regular fixtures in first-team dynamics under Flick’s guidance.

Their inclusion in senior training sessions since the summer highlights their potential, but limited minutes in competitive matches have prompted this temporary move.

Jofre Torrents is the only one to have seen first-team action, debuting with 20 minutes in a recent match against Mallorca.

Meanwhile, Dro, Toni, and Guille have been named in multiple league matchday squads but have yet to secure significant playing time.

Flick’s decision underscores his awareness of the importance of game rhythm for young players.

While training with established stars offers invaluable experience, consistent minutes on the pitch are crucial for their growth.

By allowing the four to join Barça Atletic under coach Juliano Belletti, Hansi Flick ensures they gain competitive exposure.

Starting Thursday, the players will participate in three training sessions with the reserve side to prepare for the weekend clash.

This move also highlights Barcelona’s faith in their La Masia academy, with Hansi Flick and Belletti working in tandem to nurture the next generation.

The quartet’s involvement in the reserve team’s match against Porreres offers a chance to showcase their skills and build confidence.

As Barça Atletic kicks off its campaign, the presence of these talented youngsters could provide a significant boost, while Flick keeps a close eye on their progress for future first-team opportunities.
