Barcelona’s defence of their La Liga title has started at a remarkable pace, with Hansi Flick’s side setting new club records along the way.
The Blaugrana have turned their early-season momentum into a perfect competitive record, winning every match they have played so far.
That run had already seen Barca equal their best-ever start after six consecutive victories before Flick’s side went one step further against Racing Santander.
The 7-2 victory over Racing became the seventh straight win of the campaign and gave Barcelona their best-ever start to a season.
Their attacking numbers have been just as impressive, with Barca scoring 36 goals across their first eight competitive matches under Flick this season.
Barcelona then completed a perfect September in La Liga by beating Valencia 5-0, Levante 4-2, Racing 7-2 and Sevilla 3-1, scoring 19 goals across those four games.
That outstanding run has now earned Hansi Flick another major individual honour, with the Barcelona boss named La Liga Coach of the Month for September, as the league announced on their website.
The German finished ahead of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini in the final vote.
Flick’s award comes after Barca moved to the top of the table with a perfect 21 points from their opening seven league matches, while scoring 31 goals and conceding just seven.
The September run was particularly impressive because Barcelona did not simply grind out results, instead combining their unbeaten record with an attacking approach that has produced some emphatic scorelines.
The victory over Racing was especially significant, not only because of the seven goals but because it established the best opening sequence in the club’s history.
Flick is also continuing to build on an already impressive spell in Catalonia after guiding Barca to back-to-back La Liga titles and being named the competition’s Coach of the Year for 2025/26.
He has now collected another monthly award during a period in which his Barcelona side are setting the pace domestically while producing some of the most prolific football in Europe.
The challenge for Flick will be maintaining that level when La Liga resumes, with Getafe, Real Betis and Real Madrid among Barcelona’s upcoming league opponents.
