Eric Garcia looks like a new signing for Barcelona under Hansi Flick despite rejoining the Spanish club from Man City on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
Hansi Flick, who happened to stop the Spaniard’s move to Serie A side Como in the last transfer window, has been justified in the decision amid the player’s resurgence.
Although the player is not a regular starter for Hansi Flick, he always leaves an impact when he does have a chance to play football.
Eric Garcia Reveals Flick’s Half-time Masterclass
In the post-match conference, Spanish and Olympic gold medallist Eric Garcia talked about the masterclass of the German coach Hansi Flick, evidenced by the half-time tweak.
Eric Garcia: “Flick helped us tweak the team in the dressing room at half time. He asked us to modify some tactical aspects in getting the ball out and positioning, and of course reducing passing errors.”
Regarding the team’s underperformance in the first half of the game and what needs to change, Hansi Flick said: “I think I learned a lot today, defending the goal and again a clean sheet, which is very important. But in the end it’s about positioning, passing, all of that. It was something we couldn’t do and we have to improve a lot after this game.”
Barcelona faces off against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday at home for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final before traveling to the northeast of Madrid on April 2 for the return leg.
