Barcelona have enjoyed plenty of attacking quality since Dani Olmo returned to the club, although his time at Camp Nou has also been interrupted by fitness problems.
The Spain international remains one of Hansi Flick’s more versatile attacking midfielders, capable of operating centrally or drifting into wider areas.
His first two seasons back in Catalonia have already produced two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
Dani Olmo scored 12 goals in 39 appearances during his first campaign and followed that with eight goals and nine assists across 49 matches last season.
His importance to Flick’s squad has therefore remained clear despite competition for places in the attacking positions.
This season, however, his role has been somewhat different as Barcelona have managed his minutes during the early weeks of the campaign.
Olmo has featured in all seven of Barcelona’s La Liga matches, starting two and providing three assists despite playing just 259 minutes.
Dani Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, has now revealed that the Barcelona midfielder has already mapped out where he wants his playing career to eventually end.
The 28-year-old reportedly hopes to finish his career with Dinamo Zagreb before beginning his coaching journey at the Croatian club.
Olmo has a particularly strong connection with Dinamo after moving there from Barcelona’s academy as a teenager in 2014.
He spent six seasons with the Croatian side, making 96 appearances in all competitions and scoring 24 goals before earning a move to RB Leipzig in 2020.
His time in Zagreb was also where he developed into a senior international, winning multiple domestic trophies before establishing himself in the Bundesliga.
He later returned to Barcelona in 2024, completing a move back to the club where he had originally spent time as a youth player.
Bara explained the depth of Olmo’s attachment to Dinamo during an appearance on the Inkubator podcast, as relayed by SPORT, revealing that the midfielder still wears his old club’s shirt at home.
“He wants to finish his career at Dinamo and hopes that will be the case, even as a manager; he’d like to start his managerial career at Dinamo,” Bara said.
He added, “Dani still walks around the house wearing a Dinamo shirt with the number 7 and his name on it, even now in Barcelona.”
Olmo’s current focus, though, remains Barcelona, where he has already collected five major trophies since returning to the club.
His latest campaign has started with a reduced role but three La Liga assists, while he also featured in Barcelona’s Champions League campaign.
For now, any potential return to Dinamo remains a long-term ambition rather than an immediate possibility.
