Free agency is a hot topic when it comes to Barcelona and next summer’s expected recruitment plan.
The Blaugrana are set to take advantage of what seems to be the best free agency market ever with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Joshua Kimmich and Kevin de Bruyne all set to leave their respective clubs for free at the end of the season.
However, one player who has been heavily linked with a move to Catalonia for some time is Bayer Levekusen’s Jonathan Tah,
The 29-year-old has shown no signs of extending his deal with the current German Champions and has been constantly linked with a move to two clubs, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
However, the Blaugrana have just been handed a massive boost as Bayern’s Sporting Director, Christoph Freund, has revealed they have no intentions of signing Tah.
“Tah’s name is not in our thoughts now. Our defence is at a high level and it is not something that is on Bayern’s table for next season,” Freund said in a recent interview, cited by SPORT.
With Girona trying very hard to sign Eric Garcia and Barca willing to accept offers for Andreas Christensen, bringing Tah in next campaign would be a massive boost to Hansi Flick’s defensive options.
Hopefully, Barcelona can wrap this deal up quickly now that their main opposition has publicly bowed out of the race.
