Barcelona are expected to take huge advantage of the free agent market in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Players such as Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah are all out of contract in July and they have all been linked with a move to the Spotify Camp Nou.
However, the free agent that has been linked the most with a move to Barça is Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
The 28-year-old is a mainstay in Xabi Alonso’s, playing 25 games in all competitions for the German champions this season.
Despite being a key figure for Leverkusen, it is expected that Tah will run down his contract with Die Werkself in search of a new challenge.
Even though Barcelona has been rumoured to be his next club, a new update from Florian Plettenberg has potentially thrown it into doubt.
According to the Sky Germany reporter, there is still no agreement between Tah and Barça and he is yet to give a final commitment, as confirmed by close sources from his inner circle.
Fortunately, Plettenberg does confirm that the Blaugrana are doing everything they can to sign him for free in summer.
With Barcelona back to the 1:1 rule, hopefully, the current financial restraints at the club won’t put this deal into jeopardy.
