Barcelona are ramping up their summer rebuild as Hansi Flick prepares to lead the club into a defining season for the Catalan giants.

With Joan Laporta determined to arm his manager with the tools to compete both domestically and in Europe, Barca’s activity in the transfer window has been relentless.

Having fallen short in the Champions League last term, the Blaugrana are under pressure to deliver silverware in Europe — and part of that resurgence will come from their long-awaited return home.

Barcelona fans have extra reason to be excited this time around, as the club gears up for its return to the iconic Spotify Camp Nou after nearly two years of exile.

The revamped stadium is expected to provide a massive boost to team morale and matchday atmosphere — but the club still has a few key hurdles to clear before that dream becomes a reality.

According to Catalunya Radio, there are four major steps the club must complete before fans can officially be welcomed back to their spiritual home.

The first step involves securing construction and operating permits required for the safe return to the stadium.

This will then be followed by obtaining the initial occupancy certificate, allowing for a phased reopening.

Next on the agenda is the installation of an evacuation corridor in the Maternitat area, a vital safety measure that must be in place before reopening proceeds.

The final requirement is police clearance, ensuring the venue and its surrounding infrastructure meet necessary safety and security standards.

Barcelona plans to host this year’s Joan Gamper Trophy as the first match at the new-look Camp Nou.

This “test run” will welcome around 20,000 spectators to assess transport flow, entry, and exit dynamics, with a temporary matchday capacity set at 35,000.

If all goes smoothly, the club will reopen the Spotify Camp Nou with a 65,000-seat limit by mid-September, gradually increasing as further phases of construction wrap up.

Returning to their historic fortress could mark a turning point in Barcelona’s quest to restore their dominance across all competitions. The stage is almost set — all that’s left is for the gates to open.
