Last year Barcelona were presented with a staggering bid for Lamine Yamal by Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain.

The French side were trying to take advantage of the Blaugrana’s delicate financial situation by offering €250million for the La Masia wonderkid.

Despite this world record bid, Barcelona outright declined it as they view the 17-year-old winger as their next superstar.

A few months after the saga, Barca’s President, Joan Laporta, confirmed that the reports were true and that PSG attempted to sign Yamal.

“They came to me to sign Lamine for 250 million euros and I said no six months ago. He is the most popular player in the world. What is Lamine’s real value?”

Lamine Yamal comments on PSG interest

In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, Yamal was directly asked about PSG’s interest and his thoughts on their offer at the time.

“I don’t get them, but if someone close to me did, they wouldn’t have told me. First, and above all, because I had a contract and then because I think it was unfeasible for me to go to another club.

Talks between Barcelona and Yamal are currently ongoing as his current deal expires in 2026 but it is expected the 17-year-old will extend, securing his future at the Camp Nou.

However, if Deco cannot reach a deal then the La Masia graduate will not be short of offers from the biggest clubs in world football.
