RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko reportedly rejected an offer from Arsenal this summer and is now a target for Barcelona, per HITC Sport.
After an impressive season in the Bundesliga, which saw him score 14 goals in his first year among Europe’s top leagues, Sesko attracted interest from elite clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.
His notable streak featured scoring in seven consecutive matches at the end of the season. Despite speculation, the Slovenian opted to remain at Leipzig and sign a contract extension, resulting in Arsenal failing to secure one of their key targets.
HITC proposes that Barcelona may consider pursuing Sesko in an upcoming transfer window, seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Catalan side sees Sesko as a player with the potential to reach a level comparable to that of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. They are beginning to make plans for a replacement for Lewandowski.
