Despite their financial constraints, FC Barcelona continue to monitor emerging talents across the globe. One player who caught their attention during the summer transfer window was former La Masia prodigy Xavi Simons.
The 21-year-old, currently excelling at RB Leipzig and for the Netherlands at UEFA EURO 2024, opted to extend his loan from Paris Saint-Germain rather than explore other opportunities.
Now, SPORT reports that PSG may be open to a permanent transfer for Simons in the next window, with clubs like Barcelona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Manchester United all interested. Leipzig also hopes to retain him.
Barcelona, though strong in midfield with Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Pablo Torre, could benefit from Simons’ versatility.
However, PSG reportedly seek €80 million for him, as the player is unwilling to renew his deal, which expires in 2026, and they fear his value may drop.
