Barcelona might soon see a surprising boost to their finances as rumors suggest that one of their former players could be making a big money move to the Premier League.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Jean-Clair Todibo, who once flirted with Barcelona’s first-team squad, never managed to establish himself as a regular starter despite showing potential.
The Catalan club, facing financial hardships, had to let go of players, resulting in Todibo’s temporary stays at Schalke and Benfica.
In a recent tweet, Romano exclusively revealed that Todibo is set to join West Ham in the Premier League with a transfer fee of $43.7 million (€40 million).
This development comes as a welcome relief for Barcelona, as they shrewdly negotiated a clause entitling them to receive 20% of any future sale of Todibo, potentially earning them $8.7 million (€8 million).
