The deal is finally sealed, and the next move is underway. Vitor Roque signs for Palmeiras for a €25.5m fee.
After a news-filled week, Barcelona finally got the move they wanted done after La Liga ruled the deal as illegal as of last week. Once again, the relationship between the two organizations worsened as the Catalan side turned to FIFA, who approved the deal.
Barcelona compensated Real Betis by agreeing to give them 30% more of Ez Abde’s rights, taking them up to 80%. It was a much-needed agreement before Betis could approve the transfer of the player mid-season.
With that in place, Barcelona are looking to extend the contracts of Lamine Yamal and Inigo Martinez.
Barcelona to Extend Duo Contract
A loan move to Betis was insufficient to reignite Vitor Roque’s performances, as seen in the Brazilian league.
The player has had a rough time in Catalonia, having arrived with tremendous potential at Barcelona in January 2024. Still, he has struggled to make an impact in the second part of the 2023-24 season.
With his exit, Barcelona will have more financial room for the automatic 12-month extension of Inigo Martinez.
According to MD, the club will also look to offer a new contract to their wonderkid Lamine Yamal, who has spoken about his loyalty to the club of his life after rejecting a supposed record transfer offer last season from PSG.
