Barcelona are looking at former Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford, who is presently on loan at Aston Villa, as a potential summer transfer target.

The Manchester United superstar was linked with a January move to Barcelona after falling out of favor at Old Trafford at the end of 2024.

Since the appointment of former sporting coach Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese have excluded Rashford from his matchday squad on numerous occasions after he expressed a desire to quit the club in pursuit of a fresh challenge in 2025.

Rashford Back on Barcelona Radar

After the fallout with Ruben, Rashford had numerous offers from top European clubs, with Barcelona deemed the preferred destination.

However, the Blaugrana did not make any formal bid to the English club and instead ceased the occasion to extend the contracts of essential players.

With the winter transfer window closing and Barcelona still to make an offer, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has come into the picture. He requested the services of the Englishman.

With a £40 million purchase option for Rashford in June, Barcelona are still considering the player as a suitable option to strengthen the left-wing position.

Since his last-minute move to Aston Villa, Rashford has appeared to be his old self. The player is making a name for himself and creating goal-scoring chances for the team.

It remains to be seen if Emery would activate the purchase option at the end of the season if Rashford continues in his current form.
